Home

Well, we made it safely home. We went to Ben Gurion Airport in Tel Aviv around 8PM last night. We boarded our flight around 11PM, but didn't leave the ground until nearly midnight. Due to recent activity regarding the Icelandic volcano, our flight needed to be diverted. We were very tired when the flight took off, so we quickly drifted off to sleep. Barry and I woke up an hour or so later to realize that we were over Belarus. That country is northeast of Israel and not in the direction that we thought we would be going.

Over the evening, we continued flying northeast over Norway and then north over Greenland. From there, we turned southeast over the US, landing safely in Atlanta. When we got home and looked at a globe, we realized that flew past the Arctic Circle. In all, the flight was around 14 hours long. What an amazing day.

We drove home and made it here safely. We are very tired. Outside of the cat naps on the plane, we have been awake for over 40 hours. Soon, we'll be off to bed...dreaming of all of the things that we learned on this wonderful trip.
